Ribbon cutting marks Moelter Park opening

OAK PARK HEIGHTS — The city hosts a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony at Moelter Park, three weeks after volunteers constructed park playground equipment.

More than 50 volunteers gathered Aug. 18 at the Moelter Park site to construct the new community playground. This method, as part of the Kaboom / Playful Cities Organization, is different in comparison to a traditional construction of playgrounds where a contractor is hired to manage and complete the project.

Moelter Park now has traditional playground apparatus for ages two through 12 years of age. Moelter Park is located just south of the Phil’s Tara Hideaway Restaurant.
