Art exhibit opens

An art exhibit titled “Worth Remembering: Landscapes Found” by Stillwater artist Charlotte Schuld opens next week through Oct. 30 in the Stillwater Art Guild Gallery’s River Room at 402 N. Main St. The work shown is a 40-inch-by-60-inch acrylic on canvas triptych titled “March Bloom: Winterthur Gardens: Delaware. Triptyches are separate works done in three sections then placed together to form a panoramic image. Schuld works in a variety of mediums besides canvas including watercolor and pastel paintings, mixed media drawings and works on hard-shell gourds. Her landscapes are inspired by travels in the U.S., Italy, Spain, Ireland and France. The gallery hosts two artist receptions for Schuld; one is 4 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14, the other 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 13. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
