United Way of Washington County-East and Community Thread present the Third Annual Building Better Lives Volunteer Expofrom 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Community Thread, (2300 Orleans St. West in Stillwater).

The Volunteer Expo offers St. Croix Valley residents the chance to learn about area non-profits and the many volunteer opportunities available. Thirty area non-profits host Expo booths, making it easy for both groups and individuals to “shop” for volunteer opportunities. Organizations at the Expo include HOPE Adoption & Family Services, Lakeview Hospital, East Metro Women’s Council, Tubman, Valley Outreach, Hope House, Washington County Community Circles, Yellow Ribbon Alliance, FamilyMeans, Let’s Go Fishing with Seniors, Big Brothers Big Sisters and more.

There will be refreshments, games, speed volunteering, prizes and lots of information on the organizations that serve our community. Anyone wanting to serve is welcome to attend — families, professionals, seniors, group leaders, people with community service requirements, teens and youth. Join us and find out how you can help build better lives through volunteering!

Nonprofit organizations interested in registering for the expo can contact Elena Ballam at 651-439-7434 or elena@communitythreadmn.org.
