OAK PARK HEIGHTS — St. Croix Orthopaedics (SCO) announces the opening of its first walk-in, urgent care orthopaedic clinic Aug. 6 at High Pointe in Lake Elmo. SCO’s urgent care treats a variety of acute orthopaedic injuries including sprains, strains, closed fractures, small lacerations and other bone, joint, muscle and tendon injuries, clinic officials said.
The new urgent care offers patients expanded access to one of the most highly skilled orthopaedic and sports medicine teams in the nation. Orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians are on-site to provide urgent care services from 4 to 7 p.m. weeknights and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. No appointments are necessary at the clinic, located off Interstate 94 and Radio Drive. And because SCO urgent care is an extension its clinic, patients will usually pay their general office co-pay.
“We all know that injuries don’t happen at convenient times,” said Nicholas Meyer, M.D., an upper extremity and general orthopaedic surgeon with SCO. “When the unexpected occurs, it’s important to know that you’re getting the best possible care, no matter the time of day.”
“We’re excited to be able to expand on that promise with this new urgent care offering,” added Melanie Sullivan, Ed.D., CEO of SCO. “We look forward to helping patients recover and refocus when they need it most.”
