Junior Colton Anderson was named the Most Valuable Player for the Stillwater boys’ tennis team.

Junior Colton Anderson was named the Most Valuable Player for the Stillwater boys’ tennis team this past spring.

The No. 1 singles player anchored a largely inexperienced lineup for the Ponies, who finished with a 7-10 dual meet record, including 2-7 to place seventh in the Suburban East Conference. Stillwater finished strong in Section 4AA play, upsetting fourth-seeded Cretin-Derham Hall in the quarterfinals before falling to eventual state qualifier Mahtomedi in the semifinals.

Anderson and senior Sam Stiff were the only Ponies to receive all-conference honors. Stiff, Scott Xiong, Max Wilkinson and Nick Folz were the only seniors who graduated from its section lineup.

Brady Tynen and Stone Xiong will join Anderson in serving as captains for the Ponies next spring.
