SPD hosts ‘Night to Unite’ Aug. 7

The chance to look at fire trucks and other emergency vehicles is one of the many activities during the Stillwater Police Department’s “Night to Unite” crime prevention program. This year’s activities will be 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 7 at Washington Square Park

The Stillwater Police Department celebrates its fourth annual “Night to Unite” from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 7 in Washington Square Park

“Night to Unite” is intended to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts and strengthen and develop police community partnerships.

The SPD will have emergency vehicles and equipment on display, as well as various games and prizes. Visitors can also meet Stillwater Fire Department personnel, City Council members, Lakeview Emergency Medical Services personnel, National Guard members, SPD K9 “Buzz” and local businesses during the event. The Teddy Bear Band performs from 5:15 to 6 p.m. and the Rainbow Corral Critters petting zoo will also be at the event.
