Police seek suspects in recent burglaries

Stillwater Police are seeking two suspects in connection with a rash of nighttime burglaries of occupied residences, according to an SDP spokesman

The suspects are described as white males 14 to 20 years of age with small builds and dark hair, said SPD Sgt. Jeff Stender. The pair have been seen by neighbors in several instances, but not reported to police until after the fact, he added.

Many of the burglaries have occurred from 3 to 6 a.m., with a few happening as early as midnight, Stender said. The suspects are entering through open doors and windows and are taking purses and wallets along with small electronics in some instances, he added.

Investigators also believe the same suspects might have stolen items from unlocked vehicles, Stender said.

Stender said the SPD recommends that residents make sure all doors are closed and locked and windows secured in their homes. He added that items such as purses and wallets not be left in view of doors and windows.

If residents see suspicious persons or crimes in progress, they should call 9-1-1, Stender said. Anyone with information should call the SPD tip line at 651-351-4945.
