Peanut Butter, pretzels make winning pie

Sherry Hessler’s light, smooth and creamy peanut butter pie with a crushed pretzel crust was the winner in this year’s pie baking contest sponsored by Joseph’s Restaurant.

Hessler’s creation beat more than 25 entries and tied a pie baked by Annie Olson. Judges then tasted each pie a second time before selecting Hessler’s as the winner.

Olson’s pie was named first runner up and a pie from Meghan and Nichole Junker was selected second runner up.
