Legion baseball: Stillwater knocks off Woodbury

OAK PARK HEIGHTS — Andy Peterson drove three hits at the plate and allowed just six hits in seven innings on the mound to help carry the Stillwater Legion baseball team to a 6-4 League F victory over Woodbury on Thursday at Stillwater Area High School.

Just two of the four runs charged to Peterson were earned. He allowed just one walk and stuck out seven. Peterson also drove in three runs for Post #48, which jumped out to a 4-0 lead after scoring three times in the first and adding a run in the second.

Woodbury answered with three runs in the top of the third and tied the game at 4-all with a run in the fourth, but Stillwater regained the lead with two runs in the fifth inning.

Aaron Romportl and TJ Galenti added two hits apiece for Post #48, which totaled 10 in the game.

This marked the seventh victory in the last eight games for Stillwater, which improved to 7-7 in league play and 12-12 overall.
