Local business owners joined Red’s Savoy Pizza owner EJ Utech, his wife, April, and the restaurant staff for a June 25 ribbon-cutting ceremony at the restaurant sponsored by the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.

The original opeing date of Red’s Savoy was July 2009. The preous owner closed it in February, and EJ Utech took over the re-opening process in April.

When the restaurant closed the franchise asked Utech if he woul dtake ove rthe location. Utech accepted the offer.

Utech now owns and operates two Red’s Savoy locations; in Stillwater and Hudson, Wis. The stillwater and Hudson locations are unique from their competitors because they have both pizza suace and sausage that possess tastes unique to Red’s Savoy.

    I used to eat and study before my midnight shift at Montgomery Wards in the original Savoy on Univ and Snelling almost 50 years ago-I wonder if the pizza is as good as it was then!
