Paul Jones, 93 of Stillwater, passed away on June 27, 2012.
Paul was born in Lake Crystal to Hugh and Kate Jones, and moved with family to Stillwater in 1922 where his father established the Jones Funeral Home, now, Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center.
Paul served with honor in World War II with the 77th Field and Artillery in the Sicilian and Italian campaigns. He was a Purple Heart recipient.
Paul was united in marriage to Eleanor Fellows in 1945. Paul is a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and also ushered for more than 50 years. Paul worked for MnDOT Materials and Research, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Woodworking was his hobby with family and friends enjoying his crafted works.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl and Willys: sister Kay Boyce, and son-in-law, John Lee. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Eleanor; loving daughters, Pat Lee and Sue (John) Broman; grand-daughter, Julie Anderson; great-grand-daughters, Chelsey Stubbs, Courtney Anderson and Gabrielle Beaman, and other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of Paul’s life is 2 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard on northwestern corner of Minnesota Highway 36 and County Road 5 in Stillwater, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to First Presbyterian Church or FamilyMeans.
