Boys track and field: Linner chosen MVP for Ponies

Tom Linner has been named the Most Valuable Athlete for the Stillwater boys’ track and field team following a successful senior season that included a Section 4AA championship and 10th-place finish at the state meet.

The Ponies, who finished fourth in the Suburban East Conference, also won the True Team Section 2AAA title before placing seventh at True Team state.

Linner was an all-conference performer for the Ponies before placing seventh at state in the 800 meters (1:55.57) and eighth in the 1,600 (4:19.66). Linner was also the recipient of the Ern Peaslee Scholarship Award.

Joining Linner in receiving All-Suburban East Conference honors were teammates Wayde Hall, Sean Bjork, Eric Colvin, Josh Choe, Zach Bigaouette, Ethan Anderson, Evan Johnson, Nate Bird and Connor O’Neill.

Captains for the 2013 Ponies will be announced at a later date.
