Matthew Lee Webster

Age 86 of Stillwater

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa, Friend and Mentor

Matthew Lee Webster, 86, of Stillwater, beloved husband, father, grandpa, friend and mentor, passed away June 12, 2012.

Matt was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia, and daughters, Elizabeth and Kimberly. He will be sorely missed by his current wife, Patricia; daughter, Judith; son, Charlie (Kim) and granddaughter, Amanda, and his step family, Deborah (Edd) Lundholm, David (Phyllis) Kramm and Robert (Debra Kay) Kramm. He was a much-loved grandpa to Carrie, Nathan, Sarah, Hannah, and great-grandpa to Jackson and Maxell.

Matt was born May 8, 1926, in Winthrop, Minn., where he spent his childhood years before being sent to Germany during the final years of World War II. Upon returning to civilian life, he attended Gustavus Adolphus College, graduating in 1951.

Matt began his long career in education teaching in Henderson, Minn., and spent the last 35 years of his career as a counselor at Stillwater Junior High School.

Matt often said, "I never had a day that I didn’t look forward to going to work." Matt loved the kids. Next to God and family, sports were always there. Sometimes, watching Vikings, Twins and grandsons or playing golf at the Stillwater Country Club. What a man. We all loved him.
