Gerald "Gerry"Asmus, of Stillwater and formerly of Bayport, passed away June 9, 2012.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marcella; brother, Leroy, and daughter-in-law, Debbie. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Rosalynn "Rosie;" children, Dan, Shannon, Stacey (Mark) Young; grandchildren, Nathan (Kristin), Shelly (Robert), Brock, Carly, Maddy and Reese Ann; great-grandchildren, Alex and Joseph; brothers and sisters, Marilyn Lutz and friend Bob, Marvel (Don) Lutz, Lorene (Warren) Hamble, David (Gloria) Asmus, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gerry was World War II veteran and member of Bayport’s Hesley Jensen American Legion Post No. 491, Stillwater VFW Post No. 323, Stillwater Elks Lodge No. 179, and the DAV.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.

A memorial service is noon Thursday, June 14, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 490 North Fourth St. in Bayport. Interment is at Hazelwood Cemetery in Bayport.
