Charles A. Thompson, 79, of Roberts, passed away June 1, 2012, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Charles was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Bayport, the son of Harry Sr. and Ruth (Gardner) Thompson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Charles worked as a cook for many years. He enjoyed family gathering, cookouts, fishing and playing roll poker with his family.
Charles is survived by his children, Melissa Thompson of Ridgeland, Wis.; Michelle Thompson (Stewart Carrick) of Woodville, Wis.; Sean (Mary Jo) Thompson of Hammond, Wis., and Gordon Thompson of Roberts, Wis.; grandchildren Brittney, Harley, Tanis, Thor, Samantha, Zach, Talia, Shylow and Mason; brother, Harry Thompson Jr.; sister Marsha Baribeau, and daughter-in-law at heart, Linda Sprecher. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew; six siblings and his parents.
Funeral services for Charles are 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St. in Hudson, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment takes place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
