Three area students studying abroad for fall semester

Three Stillwater-area students are studying abroad during the 2010 fall semester through the Office for Education Abroad at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., and St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn.

The students are Ryan Gott, son of Steve and Lisa Gott of Stillwater; Kelsey Schmidt-Miller, daughter of Mark and Dana Miller of Marine on St. Croix; and Laura Rose Trent, daughter of Richard and Donna Trent of Stillwater.

Gott, a junior history and theology major at SJU, is studying in Rome and Greece. Schmidt-Miller, a junior communication and psychology major at CSB, is studying in China. Trent, a junior nutrition major at CSB, is studying in Rome and Greece.

Before graduating, 58 percent of CSB students and 41 percent of SJU students will participate in a study abroad program. Many are through the 17 semester-long programs administered by CSB and SJU, which are located in 14 countries on six continents and are led almost exclusively by faculty.
