Southbound Lexington Avenue reopens today

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists should experience less traffic congestion when southbound Lexington Avenue reopened to two lanes over Interstate 694 this morning.

The Lexington Avenue bridge project, which began this month, adds dual left turn lanes and an improved bicycle/pedestrian crossing over I-694. Work includes upgrades to the signal system and the ramps to and from the freeway. The project will be completed by mid-July. Access to the pedestrian lane will be maintained during construction.

The I-694 North Central Interchange Projects in the northern Twin Cities Metro area will rebuild the interchange of I-694 and U.S. Highway 10 at Snelling and Hamline avenues in Arden Hills. The two-year project will rebuild the surrounding roadways between I-35W and Victoria Street along with the Island Lake bridges east of the interchange between Lexington Avenue and Victoria Street.

In addition to rebuilding the surround highways, the project will rebuild bridges in the corridor and to improve pavement condition while enhancing safety and mobility.
