School board honors robotics team

The Independent School District 834 board honored the Stillwater Area High School’s robotics team Thursday for winning the state championship.

SAHS teamed up with Park and Prior Lake high schools and won the inaugural state robotics championship sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League and FIRST Minnesota.

The tournament was held on May 19 at the Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus.

Also during its meeting the school board had its first reading of the board governance process policies. The board made minor changes to five of its policies, including operating norms, board job descriptions, board organization and officer roles, board liaison assignments and working groups and board development and evaluation.

The board will hold its second reading at a future meeting.
