Montan Dana Novak, 33, born March 17, 1979, went to be with his Savior April 22, 2012. He fought courageously for 1.5 years after being diagnosed with a rare germ cell cancer.

Montan was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Novak. He is survived by his loving wife, Brittany; adoring son Isaac, 3; father, Dana; mother Sue Peterson, and sister, Layla Bainter. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Sarah and Stephen Ban Dusartz, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

Montan had a sweet, gentle spirit and we thank God for the time he spent with us. At the time of Montan’s passing, he lived in Spring Hill, Fla., but was born and raised in the Stillwater area.

Our family wishes to thank the friends who showed such caring for our loved one. They are Jim Bouldt, Ron Melcher and the Rev. Jed Lindstrom.

A memorial is planned for June 8, 2012, at the Stillwater VFW Post No. 323, 5880 Omaha Ave. North in Oak Park Heights, next to the bowling alley. The service is 5:30 p.m. and family will greet friends at 4:30 p.m. Please join us for supper after the service.
