Rep. Kathy Lohmer (R-Lake Elmo) recently secured $1 million in capital funds for Oak Park Heights to alleviate costs incurred by the St. Croix River Crossing project.
"Oak Park Heights is a very small city with less than 5,000 residents, and the Stillwater Bridge is a very big project," Lohmer said. "This capital grant will ensure that the city is not paying disproportional funds for the project."
Lohmer’s bill, House File 2903, was selected as part of the omnibus capital investment bill presented by the Minnesota House and Senate. The bill will likely be debated on the House floor this week.
"The bridge replacement project has received bipartisan support from the national level to the local level," Lohmer added. "I am proud to support this project that will enhance travelers’ safety and create added value to the area."
Senator Ted Lillie (R-Lake Elmo) sponsors the companion.
