Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with llamas and alpacas at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo.
Located in the Cattle Barn at the fairgrounds, Llama Magic offers many opportunities to get up close and personal with a curious camelid. Visit with the animals or take them for a walk. There will be several vendors at the event from llama and alpaca products to jewelry, artwork, rugs and homemade soap. Clothes and accessories for American Girl dolls will also be available.
Visitors can learn about llama and alpaca fiber – considered some of the world’s most luxurious natural fibers. Several fiber demonstrations will be given throughout the weekend, including sock knitting machines, spinning and needle felting.
There will also be events where the animals will compete in a series of obstacles for spectators’ enjoyment. Food vendors will also be at the event.
Llama Magic runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 12-13. The event is free and open to the public. The Washington County Fairgrounds is located at 12300 N. 40th Street at the intersection County Road 15 and Highway 5. For more information visit www.llamamagic.com or contact [email protected]
