Remi Larson – Girls lacrosse

The Stillwater girls’ lacrosse team features a balanced offensive attack and Remi Larson has been a strong performer down the stretch as the Ponies chase down their second straight section crown.

The freshman delivered four goals and added an assist in Tuesday’s 17-10 Section 4 semifinal victory over Champlin Park and provided five goals and two assists in a 21-4 quarterfinal victory over Anoka on May 23. In 15 games this season, Larson has racked up 34 goals and 8 assists for the balanced Ponies, who captured their fourth consecutive Suburban East Conference title.

Stillwater (13-2) faces Mahtomedi in tonight’s section finals at Osseo.

Eric Colvin – Boys track and field

Contributing to state championships in boys track and field and cross country during the past year, Eric Colvin won the 3,200 meters for the second year in a row at Friday’s SEC Meet at East Ridge High School.

The junior turned in a winning time of 9:16.67 to finish in front of teammate Tom Linner as part of a strong showing in the distance events. The Ponies placed five runners among the top nine in the race, including Matt Chu and Edoardo Tagliaferri in sixth and seventh and Ethan Anderson in ninth place. Colvin also won the Section 4AA title in the 3,200 meters on Tuesday at Pony Stadium with a time of 9:23.49.

The Ponies will compete on Day 2 of the Section 4AA Meet on Thursday.
