The Lake Elmo City Council appointed a new city administrator during a special meeting Tuesday.
The council approved an employment agreement with Dean A. Zuleger, the former village administrator of Weston, Wis.
Zuleger, who starts his job Jan. 30, was selected from 30 applicants. The council interviewed seven finalists in December.
Zuleger has held several executive positions with private industry, trade associations and non-profit organizations, as well as held staff positions in legislators’ offices, according to interim City Administrator Craig Dawson.
Zuleger succeeds former City Administrator Bruce Messelt, now the county Chisago County administrator. Dawson has been the interim city administrator since early October and will continue with the city through early February.
