Garry B Thompson, "Tater Bug," beloved husband, father and poppa, 70, of Stillwater, was called home to be with God on March 30, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.
Garry was preceded in death by father, Harry; mother, M. Ruth; father-in-law, Harold Mariana; mother-in-law, Helen, and 5 siblings.
Garry is survived by best friend and wife of 47 years, Nancy (Mariana); daughter Kim (Tony) Otley; son Keith (Michelle); grandchildren Zachary, Kyanne, Mason, Zoey and Mallory; sister Marcia (Russ) Baribeau; brothers Charles and Harry Jr.; brother-in-law David (Joan) Mariana; special family friend Bev Johnson, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Garry had many years of hard-working skills as a house mover, garbage hauler, and iron cutter. He loved spending time with his precious family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Most recently he enjoyed playing cards and bingo with them.
Funeral service is noon Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. North in Stillwater. Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. Interment is at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bayport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
