Sen. Al Franken’s staff will be speaking to students and parents across the state about college resources.
His staff will be hosting "College Affordability Resource Nights" at the Stillwater Area High School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The event is free and open to the public. The staff will use feedback from the meetings to help Franken as he prepares for ongoing debates about college affordability. Franken will not be in attendance.
The night will touch on several different topics, from applying to schools, determining how much each school will cost, filling out FAFSA, understanding financial aid packages and how to pay for post secondary education. Parents and students will also hear what is going on at the federal level regarding college affordability legislation.
The meeting will be led by Franken’s Minnesota Education Advisor, Dan Solomon.
