The 34th Annual Rivertown Art Festival returns to Stillwater May 19-20 with more than 130 artists selling handmade works art, ceramics, pottery, jewelry and more, and with the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce’s first year back as sole manager of the event.
With the Chamber overseeing all planning efforts, several significant improvements have been made including a new Marketplace featuring gourmet food products and other handcrafted merchandise. The event also moves to the north side of Lowell Park. This change frees up all the parking spaces south of the Lift Bridge for art enthusiasts to visit the event and local downtown businesses.
"Regaining event management and a stricter jury process has allowed us to bring higher quality work and true artisans along with other positive changes to this year’s show," said Todd Streeter, Chamber executive director.
"We’re excited about the addition of the marketplace," adds Dolly Parker, event coordinator. "It has allowed us to broaden our offerings to items like gourmet food that though handcrafted and in high demand, wouldn’t qualify for the festival under traditional artist jury criteria."
The festival is sponsored by Renewal by Andersen and is 10 am to 5 pm on May 19-20. For information, visit www.stillwaterrivertownartfestival.com or contact the chamber at 651-439-4001 or [email protected].
