Area student graduates from SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D. – A Stillwater woman was among the 1,022 students receiving degrees Dec. 11 from South Dakota State University at a commencement ceremony in the university’s Frost Arena.

Allison Herrlein earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education and human sciences from the university.

Of the 1,022 students awarded degrees, 761 were from the school’s fall semester and 261 completed coursework last summer.

Wick accepted by Luther College

DECORAH, Iowa – Nathan Wick of Stillwater has been accepted for admission for the 2011-12 academic year to Luther College, school officials recently announced.

Wick received a Regent Scholarship to the Decorah, Iowa-based university. Luther College has an enrollment of 2,500.

8 area students on Gustavus dean’s list

ST. PETER, Minn. – Eight St. Croix Valley students were named to the Gustavus Adolphus College dean’s list for the semester ending in December, college officials announced.

Area students recognized for having a GPA of 3.7 or higher were Bryan Bjork, Marnie Luke, David Pedersen and Laura Secor, all of Stillwater; Justine Koch of Hugo; Alyssa Henkel and Marah Sobczak, both of Lake Elmo, and Andrew Setterholm of Marine on St. Croix.

Valley students named to UW dean’s list

MADISON, Wis. – Several St. Croix Valley students were named to the University of Wisconsin-Madison dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2010-11 academic year, university officials announced.

Area student on UW-Superior dean’s list

SUPERIOR, Wis. – Shayna Nicolaison of New Richmond, Wis., was named to the University of Wisconsin-Superior dean’s list of the fall semester, school officials recently announced.

Students named to the UW-Superior dean’s list must complete 15 semester credits and have a 3.5 or better GPA.

Area student earns master’s degree

ROANOKE, Va. – Ellen Schneider of Lake Elmo received a Master of Science degree Dec. 17 from the physician assistant program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences at the school’s winter commencement ceremony.

JCHS is a private higher education institution founded in 1914 that provides students with opportunities in the health care industry.
